Bayan against economic oppurtunities

MANILA, Philippines - A militant group accused Australia Friday of using the abduction of a television crew and a university professor to push for the ratification of an agreement to allow its military intervention in Mindanao.

The Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) issued the warning following reports that the Australian government supported military offensives in Mindanao against the kidnappers of a television news crew and a university professor.

"The Australian government has no business intervening in Philippine affairs. Their statements on escalating military offensives in Sulu is unwarranted and can be construed as a self-serving move to allow their troops access to the Philippines," said Bayan secretary general Renato Reyes Jr.

We all know that peace and stability is the key to economic development. If the Australian Military come here for training it will not only have impact on military skills but on economy specific to the region or province they will stay.

Second the objective is to remove terrorist in Mindanao by all means. This Sulu problem have been with us 10 years or more hurting our taxes. Hope the government by any other ways could find solutions in our problem. Save our taxes from buying bullets, save our taxes from death benefit of soldiers. Just spent them on projects specially in Sulu. This could be achieve only if there are no terrorist in Sulu.
